Urban Union is a joint venture company that regenerates urban areas across Scotland.  Founded in 2011, it creates revitalised communities through building new, high quality, affordable homes.

Each of our projects is meticulously designed with the local community at the forefront.  Our contemporary new homes are situated in close proximity to transport links, shops, schools and improved services and amenities resulting in a flourishing and positive community for everyone in the area. 

Urban Union cares about the future of Scotland and aims to ensure each project delivers sustainable long-term benefits to the new, as well as surrounding neighbourhoods.  Job and training opportunities ensure the community will continue to benefit from these projects for years to come.

Neil McKay

Managing Director

With more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, Neil has a track record of delivery of major building and civil engineering projects, both in the UK and Gulf Region.

Neil leads Urban Union as the company continues to grow and deliver large-scale regeneration projects across Scotland.

 

Craig Kidd

Finance Director

Craig was appointed Finance Director in Jan 2015 and is responsible for the financial management/ strategy of the business. He carries out a key role in company development planning, funding, financial control and MI as the company continues to deliver on-going large-scale regeneration projects across Scotland. A qualified accountant (CIMA CGMA), Craig has over 17 years’ experience in financial management, specifically for companies which specialise in property and public/private housing developments.

Kirsty Robertson

Sales & Marketing Manager

Kirsty was appointed Sales & Marketing Manager in January 2015 and is responsible for the sales & marketing management and strategy for the business. She has over 10 years experience within the construction industry and holds a degree in Property Law from Strathclyde University.

 

Caroline Wallace

Commercial Manager

Caroline has over 15 years’ Commercial experience within the industry, she leads the Commercial department, ensuring sound delivery of all commercial and contractual requirements across Urban Union’s large-scale regeneration projects.

Suzanne Lawns

Business Development Manager

Suzanne has worked in housing since 2002 and in development for the past nine years. She has lead in negotiating land purchases, compulsory purchase orders, development of community space and offices  as well as smaller scale urban development projects and the procurement of consultants and contractors. She led on the marketing and sale of over 300 residential properties across Scotland.

Steven Anderson

Technical & Construction Manager

Steven is a Chartered Architectural Technologist who has over 25 years’ experience in the industry delivering a wide range of housing and regeneration projects.  Previously Steven has held a senior management position within a private architectural practice, and more recently a design, co-ordination and delivery role with a developer. Steven is currently responsible for the technical appraisal of potential projects and design, technical co-ordination and construction management of all current Urban Union projects.

James Lynch

Customer Service Manager

James recently joined the team as the Customer Service Manager based in our head office. James is a joiner to trade and has over 30 years experience within the building industry. He has worked on a range of projects from newbuilds to Timber Kit homes and everything in between.

Nicola Houston

Assistant Accountant

Nicola Houston is Urban Union’s Assistant Accountant who works alongside the Finance Director.  Nicola has over 10 years’ experience working within a busy finance department from managing ledgers, processing invoices and preparing VAT returns to preparing & producing monthly management accounts.

Vivienne Holland

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Vivienne has joined the commercial team as Assistant Quantity Surveyor. She has recently graduated with an MSc in Quantity Surveying and is working towards completing her APC.  Prior to joining Urban Union Vivienne worked with a main contractor and has experience of working on various projects. 

Michelle Wilson

Customer Service Advisor

Michelle Wilson is the customer Service advisor for Urban Union. Michelle has over 12 Years’ experience working within the Customer service and sales within several Industries. Michelle has worked within the building industry for the last 3 years and has a wide knowledge on housing standards and regulations. 

Christopher Maughan

Technical Assistant

Chris has recently joined the team as a Technical Assistant working alongside the Technical & Construction manager.  Having previously completed an Architecture degree, he recently returned to university to complete an MSc in Construction Management. Chris has experience working as an Architectural Assistant and prior to joining Urban Union worked as an Assistant Project Manager.

Chloe Thompson

Sales & Marketing Administrator

Chloe recently joined the team as the Sales & Marketing administrator. She graduated with honors in jounralism from University of the West of Scotland in Summer 2016 and has worked for a number of broadcasters and media outlets, however, she's most interested in all things marketing & PR.

Ursula Read

Personal Assistant/Office Manager

Ursula Read is Personal Assistant to the Managing Director as well as Urban Union’s Office Manager.  Ursula has over 25 years of experience working with senior level directors as well as many years’ experience in overseeing the smooth running of the office environment.  She has worked in various types of organisation which more recently have included Morrison Construction and Morgan Sindall.

Irene Espie

Sales Advisor

Irene is currently working as the Sales Advisor on our Pennywell Living development. She has over 20 years of experience within the sales industry and has owned and operated pubs and hotels in West Lothian, East Lothian and the Scottish Borders. She most enjoys speaking with customers and helping throghout their journey of buying their new home.

Lynne Williams

Sales Advisor

Lynne is the Sales Advisor on our Laurieston Living development. She has worked for over 30 years in the property market and has worked on both the Pennywell Living and Muirton Living developments.

Pauline Mathieson

Customer Service Advisor

Pauline Mathieson is Urban Unions Customer Service Advisor.  She has over 20 years of experience working in an office environment having spent the last 12 years working within the electrical industry.

Hannah Cox

Receptionist

Hannah recently left school to become Urban Union's receptionist. She gained 5 highers in her 5th year at school and enjoys musical theatre and dance.
